In this Pool Showdown, I am comparing Suprnova, Luckpool, and MineZone. I mine three identical Trio rigs simultaneously in each pool and compared their profits. A Trio rig is made up of one Nvidia 1070 Zotac Mini and two Nvidia 1080Tis. If you’re interested in how to make one or what parts to get, check out our Equipment page. I’m running nVOC, a custom Linux mining operating system designed by full zero. on the Trios and you can check out how to set that up here.
I turned on the miners in each pool at the same time and turned them off at the same time. I set each miner to a different wallet so I could see their final results. I also watched these addresses to make sure no one donated or added a miner to them during this test (one miner was added to the Luckpool wallet, but only for like 20 minutes so that didn’t really affect my results). The results presented in this post are from three weeks of mining (September 13 at 5PM to October 4 12AM).
1st place-Suprnova (total of 18.171 ZEN)
In the last day 24 hours of mining with Suprnova, I mined 0.785 ZEN. Suprnova is extremely large on the ZEN Network at 5 MH/s. This will be a much bigger hash size compared to the other pools you’ll see below. Suprnova has a pool fee of 1%.
2nd place-Luckpool (total of 16.091 ZEN)
In the last 24 hours of mining on Luckpool, I mined 0.648 ZEN. Luckpool has a cool feature where if you find the actual block with your miner, you get 1 bonus ZEN, the miner’s jackpot reward. In this three-week comparison, I found two blocks. Luckpool will also display the Luck factor, or rate of finding a block. While I was mining, the Luck factor was 14.259 days, so I actually got pretty lucky and found blocks a little more often than that. So in the last 24 hours, Luckpool fell a little short compared to Suprnova and without the two extra ZEN blocks I found, it would’ve been the lowest performing pool in this comparison. Luckpool has the lowest pool fee of the three pools compared here at 0.3%.
Luckpool was steadily around 200-400k kh if I recall, but mainly hanging around 100-200 for me. You can see that below.
3rd place-MineZ.zone (total of 14.927 ZEN)
MineZ.zone doesn’t have as many measurement and earning read outs on its site the way that Suprnova and Luckpool do, so I can provide the exact accurate last 24-hour payout. The hashrate in this pool if often around 30-40 KSol/s, but went much higher up to 80 KSol/s. MineZ.zone has a pool fee of 1%.

NOTE: These are just three pools that we compared in this test but many others exist. Back in August, we had another showdown between Suprnova, Zenmine, Miningspeed, and Luckpool. Suprnova ultimately won as the best ZEN pool in that comparison. You can see the results of that test below, but we’re also running new tests on zhash pro and miningspeed. Since the conclusion of this test, MineZ.zone has tripled the cumulative ZEN hashing power. Here is our review from back in August:
